AAGGHH!! help nipping tile

I'm attempting to nip/cut two pieces of 12x12 tile to fit around a toilet flange. I don't have a power saw but have tiled before. however, everytime I get the tile 75-80% nipped (using hand nippers) it breaks. There has got to be an easier way. my hands are killing me and both of the tiling experts (local stores) I've talked with said hand nippers are my best bet.

is there a technique for doing this? if I do have to break down and buy a power saw.. what is the least expensive and easiest option?

Thank you
Scott

Angle grinder with 4" drycut diamond blade, take about a minute.

http://www.internationaltool.com/angle.htm#4%201/2%22

Figure another $20 to $30 for a diamond blade as well.

That site is just to give you an idea, I never bought there, HD has all these as well.

Since you don't have an angle grinder you probably won't need a DeWalt. You can get a grinder for twenty or thirty from HD and a cheap blade for about 10 to fifteen at HD. There is no sense in buying a professional grade grinder and a top of the line blade for one cut. Heck, rent the grinder with the blade from HD for half that.
Good Luck
