durock

Does the durock sit on the edge of the tub lip? Above the tub lip? or hang over the tub lip?

Thanks

It should not sit on the tub. Its best if it sits approx 1/8" or so above the tub. If the tub is the type that has a nailing flange, you may have to fir out the studs so that the durock does not bow out at the bottom from the tub nailing flange.

If you have a tub that has a nailing flange and you are using large format tile can also end the durock just above the tub flange and set the tile so it sits 1/8" over the top of the tub. I don't particularly like this method but I know some do it and say its ok.

The moisture barrier then needs to lap the tub flange no matter how you do the board and this is where it gets a little tricky but it can be done.
