Marble removal over linoleum

I was just about to remove 12x12 marble tiles from my 150 square foot foyer and I had thought that they were on top of plywood with no underlayment.

I just realized that the marble is on top of linoleum. How difficlutl will it be to remove marbel from linoleum so I can oput Ditra on top of it? I don't want to remove the linoleum too!! Can I put Ditra on top of linoleum?

Thanks.

Remove the linoleum. Since you are already removing the tile, presumably because the installation failed, why not do it right?

The linoleum is more than likely installed over a 1/4" underlayment, if so, this 1/4" underlayment also should be removed.

Also, you should read the "STICKY" (by D. Taylor) at the beginning of the main page before make anymore decisions about leaving the linoleum in place.
