Terrazzo
Terrazzo floor carpeted-over in distant past. Want to restore and need to remove toothed wooden carpet edging strips which were (power) nailed into terrazzo meanwhile AVOIDING PULLING OUT A DIMPLE OF TERRAZZO FLOOR TOGETHER WITH THE NAIL. Have heard that it can be done. Thanks GORNOR

Chances are they are in with aluminum nails in pre-drilled holes. The trick is to get the nails out intact. Hardened nails will not come close to being driven into terrazzo, Unless someone used a Remington power-nailer, in which case divots are inevitable.

When the terrazzo pops out while removing the tack strip. It can be patched fairly easy.
Find a supplier for polyester Adhesive. Here's some help.

www.granquartz.com
Tell them what you are doing and they will recommend every thing needed to complete this task.
Also some terrazzo contractors will grind the nail head off, leaving the rest of the nail in the terrazzo floor. Blends in and will not give you blow out.
Good luck.
