Working around kitchen cabinets

Does anyone have any ideas on working around kitchen cabinets? I don't want to remove them and I can't install over the existing underlayment because then my door won't open.

I should add that the existing floor is vinyl tile over 1/4" plywood, over I think linoleum (it looks like a yellow cork pattern so maybe its something else) over plywood 3/8" I think and last slanted 3/4" x 6" boards.

The

has to go. The
slanted 3/4" x 6" boards
are not stable enough on there own (way to much movement) for a ceramic tile installation and need plywood over them. You have 3/8". I would prefer to see 5/8" at a minimum. I dont think this will give you enough clearance for your cabinet doors though. Im trying to picture what kind of cabinets you have that have doors that close to the floor.

You could remove everything right down to the floor joists, install 3/4" exterior tongue and groove plywood, ditra (or another membrane) and then your tile (as long as its not natural stone).

You could remove and reinstall the cabinets.
