Removing old tile-- Installing new tile

Greetings-

I need to remove the old ceramic tile from the concrete bathroom floor. I plan to put new tile down.

I'd planned to hammer and chisel the old tile out but not sure how to remove the old cement ????

Any tips on removing the old tile ? Preping the floor for new tile ?

Thanks--

Hi Piney,

I'm not sure why you need to remove the concrete. You should be able to simply bust the tile and grout up and remove it. The concrete subfloor should be left in tact.

Sorry-- by "removing the old cement..." I meant the substance used to stick the tile to the concrete :-)

I am assuming that the concrete flooring should be relative clear of debris left from the old tile installation.
