Slate tile over concrete floor
I have vinyl flooring in the kitchen that I plan to pull up and there is concrete underneath. There is obviously a crack that has one side shifted vertically. What can I do to the concrete so that I can lay tile over it?

If you have vertical movement in the cracks in the slab your best bet is to use something other than ceramic tile or stone. Isolation membranes will not help in your situation. These cracks in the slab will indeed result in cracks in your tile in a short period of time.
