Moulding
The people who lived in my house before me, installed in a ceramic tile floor in the entry way, hallway and kitchen. (They "blocked in" the dishwasher when doing this--because the floor is about 2" deep, what with all the stuff under the ceramic tile. I did have to cut my counter top to remove my dishwasher to install a new one!) However the reason I'm posting is the moulding. The moulding that was on the floor prior to the ceramic tile install is still there-I mean, they never removed the old moulding and installed new. Just installed the ceramic tile right up to it. So what I have is about 1" of moulding showing above the tile-which looks funny-because the rest of it is below the floor.
I would like to have new, thicker moulding. What can I do? Is there any moulding that would fit OVER the old moulding?
Thanks!

Can you get some sort of cutting tool under there to cut down that existing moulding?
Looks like the previous homeowners were quite lazy when installing the tile.

I've seen so called pros who do that kind of thing. It never ceases to amaze me. I agree with the cut the old down suggestion. New base should be thicker at the bottom than the existing is at the surface of the tile so it should hide well. Handling height differences where the base goes from tile to some other flooring may be an issue though.
