Grouting Floor Tiles

I am getting ready to grout my ceramic floor tiles with a 1/4 inch grout line. I notice that most grout on floors is about 1/16 t0 a 1/32 lower than the tile. My question is do I trawl and sponge level to the tile does it shrink to that level or do I sponge to that level?

Take a look at the edge of the tile. You'll notice the finished surface rolls over the edge a little and then stops. The grout doesn't hang onto that surface very well so it's normally sponged to there but doesn't absolutely have to be. If you like the grout higher on the tile, don't sponge as aggressively. I've never noticed much shrinkage when I grout, but then, I mix it a bit stiff.
