Remove self leveling primer before laying down thin set?
I am preparing my floor for application of a self leveling compound that is needed on only part of my floor. I expect to apply the self leveling primer to an area larger than what I expect to be leveled, sort of as a margin for error so all the compound has primer under it. Do I need to scrape up that excess primer after everything dries before I then apply my thinset when I'm done leveling the floor?
Thanks
Thanks

Jaz is on the money, I think it is better to coat the entire floor with an SLC. When you are finished the material drifts off of the high spots and fills the low spots. I generally primed the floor and then used a 1/4 x 1/4 suare notch trowel and covered the entire floor...this made for an incredibly level and smooth floor. If you have an exceptionally deep low spot, you will want to part pre-fill it or use some of the SLC's made for thicker pours.

Thanks. Today, I worked with a SLC and a floor patch at the same time. I thought I'd do both, partly because I wanted to get experience with both. Also, I'd heard (as Jaz mentioned) that SLCs are tricky to work with and I was a bit intimidated.
But, after working with both, I'd say I prefer the SLC. I saw the edges did not feather, but it responded very well to my trowel and I think edges are OK.
Thanks
