Want to be sure of process before I begin...
I am installing a slate tile kitchen countertop. It has a 3/4 ply base. I will be installing a 1/4 in. backer. I have a couple of questions:
1. What type of thinset should be used for backerboard?
2. What type of thinset for the tiles themselves?
3. For slate, shouldn't I apply a pre-grout sealer? If so, again what type?
4. What type of grout should I use?
5. What type of grout should I use?
6. What type of sealer should I use?
And Finally,
7. What type of thinset should be used on the backsplash tiles installed directly over drywall?
I know its a lot of questions, but I just want to be sure of what I am doing.
Thanks in advance for any advice!

Just do not use anything that comes in a bucket. You can use unmodified for any of these steps, but I always prefer a good modified thinset like Versabond.
