removing old grout

I installed porceline tile in my bathroom about 6 months ago and I used a premixed grout. Well need less to say that it is a bit lumpy in spots and not totally smooth. What I would like to do is remove the old grout. How do I go about this and how difficult is it to do?

I bought a grout removal tool at Home Depot to remove the old grout from my shower. It was the best thing I found to do the job. It has a triangular shaped head with carbide blades. You rake it back and forth across the grout joint until it hits its depth. It's not too bad, of course, it's all done by hand so the size of the job is the factor. Good luck

premixed grout is nothing but caulk in bucket. You can probably remove it with a utility knife.
