Damaged glaze on ceramic tiles

A rust remover I was using came into contact with some ceramic floor tiles and damaged the glaze in spots on a number of the tiles. Replacing the tiles is not a viable option at this time.
Is there anything I can do to replace the sheen in the damaged areas to prevent the discoloration that naturally occurs from walking on them. (I'm able to remove the discoloration, but only by some very vigorous scrubbing with a scouring pad and kitchen cream cleaner.)

you mean glaze ?
no, unless you can refire a glaze back onto the tile.

you can try to use a high speed buffer but I doubt it will do anything.

When I said sheen I wasn't thinking of reglazing, but some type of coating that could, perhaps, be brushed over the damaged areas - where the glaze has been removed. I don't suppose anything would adhere to the glazed areas for too long.

correct, not really able to put a shiny sealer on glazed tile.
