removing grout

We tiled our bathroom floor about a year ago and used a premixed grout. Well it is not smooth and we want to take out the old grout and put new in. Is this a difficult job? There is alwaus the possibility of tearing out the old tile and putting in new, however we did not use a backer so it is adheared to the subfloor (there are 2 layers of subflooring in the bathroom).
How difficult would it be to tear that out?

If you can get between to the layers of subfloor, it shouldn't be too bad. All the tile should come up with the subfloor.
