Filling In Grout Lines?

I have a corner soaker tub with a tile surround/step going up to it. I would like to paint the tile as it is a very dated pink and grey pattern. I am wondering if there is any product I can use to completely fill the grout lines it give it a smooth appearance when it is completed? Thanks for any suggestions!

I personally don't know of any type of paint that will last without wearing off.

You would have to dig out 3/4 of the grout and apply new grout.

The tub is rarely used, so I'm not very concerned about the paint wearing off. If I reapply new grout, can it be sanded smooth?

No. You have to dig out the old grout and apply new with a grout float. The float will make the grout even with the tile edge depending on what type of tile this is.

You don't sand grout.

I dont really have any suggestions as to how you might smooth the surface and paint it. Keep in mind that when you do use the tub, the deck will get wet so whatever you do needs to be waterproof. If your deck is built correctly, the waterproofing is currently underneath the tile.
