Tile over vinyl...again..

OK..I've read the numerous posts re installing tile over vinyl and will do my installation according to "standards"..My question is:
WHAT METHODS ARE USED TO RIP OUT THE VINYL AND THE 1/4 INCH PLYWOOD/LUAN WHICH THE VINYL IS SITTING ON?
The vinyl and plywood are very firmly attached to what looks like 7/8 inch OSB.
Thanks.

I like this tool and will be using it myself in about a month to take up the vinyl in the entrance - hall - dinette and kitchen to put down new flooring.

Take up the baseboards - get under an edge and start prying. When you find a joint in the luan cut the vinyl and out that section goes. Gloves and a lot of sweat and grunting are mandatory. Enjoy.....

i would get a good bi-metal blade for my circular saw. set it to just over 1/4" and cut squares. then pry those up. i have a large scraper called "the mutt"
