Basic mosaic tile question

I'm putting down some mosaic floor tile that is on mesh sheets. The mosaic is made of octagons and diamonds so the side of the tile is jagged but the mesh is not. This keeps me from getting the sheets close enough together. Do you just cut the mesh away on the edges on every sheet of tile?

Yes, just take a sharp razor blade and cut the mesh away if you'd like.

I like to use my grout float to set the sheets into the thinset also.

Okay thanks.

Also, do you push the tile all the way down to the backer board?

You don't gotta put that much weight on it. Just tap them down slightly.
