What to fill space between new toilet base and title floor.

I'm going to have a little space (3/8in) between toilet and title floor. What is best to fill around the base of new toilet.Would thinset or joint compound be better. Or what else could be used.

Remove the toilet first. The toilet has to go on top of the tile floor. If you do it your way, you'll never be able to replace the toilet if needed in the future.

Yes the toilet will go on TOP of the title floor. The question is what is the best to fill in the gap around the base of the toilet on top of the title floor.

Bill

Perhaps you need to explain what you have then. Plumbing code requires that a toilet get caulked to the floor, but it sounds like you may have something else going on here.
