Question

I made the mistake of using white grout with my white ceramic tile counter tops. It's been less than a year and it is already stained terribly. I did use a sealer that was highly recommended by the tile folks. Last time I listen to them? Attempts to clean thus far have been futile. Suggestions? Can the grout be painted? Other options?

Wink

swannyj, Thus far I have not had to acid wash any of my counters as I sealed them myself. However, in this instance I would recommend starting in an out-of-the-way spot with a q-tip. Try dilluting a capfull of Muriatic acid to a cup [plastic] of water. It should bubble briefly and quit. Rinse the spot well with water {sponge} and see if the results are to your liking. If they are, please keep in mind that without rinsing, the acid continues doing what it does. This is how I have cleaned hundreds of pools, but as I say, my counters thus far are not affected. {possible difference being that I sealed them within 24 hrs. of grouting} Sure hope this helps.

Question

So that is the last time you listen to the tile "experts" and the last time you use white grout!

I've seen grout paint in our local home improvement center. I'm sure it comes in all sorts of color or can be ordered. Good luck!
