Question

I am replacing carpet in an entry way and dining area with slate tile. The subfloor is 3/4" plywood on waferboard I-beams 16" OC. The entry may see occasional water from tracked in rain/snow. What are the arguments for using 3/4" CDX or Wonderboard over the other? If I go with wonderboard 1/4" or 1/2"?

For floors use the 1/2 inch. Wonder board takes water excellent. I would use it.

Definitely use a 1/2" cement board and be sure to install it per the manufacturers recommendations
