Removing old Tile - Asbestos

I need to reomove old tile, not sure how old it is - is there a risk of asbestos? or is that not common in tile? my house was built in 1977 but I am not sure hiow old the tile is. Also - I assume the old tile was adhered to a cement backer board.. if so do I need to replace it or can it be reused?

What kind of tile are you talking about? If its ceramic tile, then no, no asbestos concerns.

It's possible you could have a cement board underlayment. If the original installation was done correctly, its not likely that you will be able to salvage the cement board. Remove the tile, and tell us what you have underneath.
