Is there any quick way to remove glued down vinyl from a cement floor? I plan to lay ceramic tile and part of the area is just cement floor and the other part has glued down vinyl on the cement.

Maybe.

I don't know if that answers your question. Maybe you try to answer mine...

What kind of vinyl? Is this sheet vinyl or paper backed linoleum? Is it vinyl tiles, and if so, the 9 inch square solid ashphalt tiles of uniform composition, the 9 inch square linoleum tiles with the vinyl wear layer and black paper backing, or 12 inch square vinyl composition tiles?

I guess it's a mute point, because with any of these, your STARTING point would be to find out who sells flooring installation supplies in town from any carpet place, go to that store and ask to buy a Roberts wood molding lifter. It looks like a miniature crow bar about 10 inches long, and it's the best tool I've found in 14 years for removing vinyl flooring. It's solid steel, so if what they show you isn't solid steel and have the general shape of a pygmy crowbar, then it's not the right tool.
