How to brighten my tile

Question

My tile has paint splatters and is dingy looking, before I regrout How can I clean this tile to brighten it?

Since your re-grouting anyway. usually the paint spatters will have to be taken off with mineral spirits. Sometimes this will affect the grout color since it is oil based. As for the dingy look you should be able to find a good tile cleaner in almost any tile store, or home center. I would avoid the ones with phosphoric or hydrochloric(muriatic) acid in them. (considering I have no idea what type of tile it is) just use the cleaner in an inconspicuous area first and see how it acts.
Good luck and always wear gloves, eye protection and keep the area well ventilated.

I will only add that using a plastic scrubber (what do you call them?) along with the paint thinner will expedite the process.

Sulfamic acid crystals are generally considerd safe on most wall tiles. Sulfamic can be obtained at tile stores. Follow Tileman's intructions on protecting yourself.
