Slab Cracks

I have a 10ftX40ft exterior patio concrete slab, it's 28 years old, there are two 1/32" or less hairline cracks that run across the slab in 2 places (smooth surface across cracks). I will install 18"X18" Porcelain tiles on Latex Modified Thinset. Would REDGARD work as an Crack Isolation Membrane?

I would recommend looking at Nobles products, specifically their Noble CIS membrane:

Sheet Membranes for Waterproofing, Crack Isolation and Sound Isolation

Good thought about the need for a membrane, but CIS is NOT for outdoor use.

Check out Noble Deck, Schluter's Ditra or specific instructions for Redguard or Hydro Ban. Remember the liquids require a specific minimum film thickness that many people do not obey. Probably need 3 coats? Best to buy a wet-film thickness gauge.
