What sub floor is needed?

Can someone advise me if I can lay 12" square granite tiles on the following 8'x10'sub floor.
The floor is solid cement it's framed with 2x3's every 12" placed on their sides running 8' long. (The floor was raised to allow for a drainage pipe) I have 3/4" plywood laid over the "Joists"
The tiles are from a big box store and appear to be only about 1/4" thick.

Any advise would be appreciated.

My tile guy said because the joists are every 12 inches he can just lay the tiles on top . Is this correct?
