Ceramic tile over sealed concrete?
My basement floor is sealed/ painted with a primer or sealer of some sort. Do I need to do anything to it before I get ready to place a new ceramic floor down? I am not sure if I can put the mortar down right on this stuff?

The sealer needs to be removed before you proceed. It must be ground off. Do not use any chemical strippers, as they can negatively affect the thinset bond to the concrete slab. In general, the concrete slab must be able to absorb water for the thinset to properly bond to it.
