How to keep grout level with tiles?

I am getting ready to tile two bathrooms and a kitchen. I would like to learn how to keep my grout joints level with the tiles. Can someone please educate me on the process I should use to accomplish level grout joints?

Make sure that when you apply the grout that you use the float at an angle to the joint and force the grout into the joint until it's full.

The real key is in the timing. If you sponge off the grout too soon the sponge will pull grout from the joint. If you wait too long to sponge it off it will be tough to clean up. The instructions that come with the grout will give you an idea how long you should wait before removing.

If your tiles are square edge the grout should be level with the top of the tile. However, some tiles have an eased or rounded edge. For these the grout should be close to the bottom of the radius.
