i used an acid on my marble and took shine off several areas .need to known best way to restore.

After grouting floor tile our toliet ran over from the top,clear water ,on the grout.It has dried but grout in the area is darker, can we lighten it? The grout normal color is antique white,where the water has laid is gray...

rebuilding a shower

i have completely gutted a ceramic tile shower that had a leak in the flooring. i plan to enlarge the shower when i rebuild it. the tile i will use is 4"by4".i need to know what dimension to build the curb under the door and what material to use as a membrane under the tile flooring to prevent leaks. i am thinking of putting a bed of mud to place the tiles on for the floor and to use concrete backer board for the walls. is this the best way to go and if not what do you recommend?
