LAYING MARBLE TILE

How difficult a job is laying and cutting marble tile? I recently bout 12" x 12" tile and the estimate to have a professional come in to do a 4'x6' area was $200-$300. I would like to do it myself, but have neither cut nor layed marble tile before. is it any different than other tile material? Any advice is appreciated!

The price range you mention is very reasonable for installing that amount of marble tile. No, it's not like installing ceramic. It takes a much higher degree of expertise.

Hi Sauer,
I agree with John the estimate that you have is very reasonable, and you should probably get a few more estimates and have a professional do it. It does take much more expertise to install marble than ceramic tile. Also ALL cuts must be done on a wet saw.
