Unhappy Asbestos tile

We had a leak and it went into my sons closet and when I pulled out the carpet today I also pulled it out into his room a bit and there was tile. When I pulled more I noticed they were 9 X 9 and when I was in tech school they said that 9x9 tiles were asbestos and they no longer make 9x9. I didn't know about the adhesive though. Is it the black stuff on the floor and if so it was exposed in the closet w/o tiles on it. Should I also have that inspected also? No telling what is in the other rooms. Thank you!

I started your own thread instead of posting to a 8 year old thread.

The tiles pose little danger if they are left alone. When you disturb them is when they are a danger due to the Asbestos fibers getting airborne and inhaled. Leave them alone.

If you are still worried about them, you will have to get a professional abatement company to remove them. I believe it is both the glue (the black stuff) and the tile itself that had the asbestos.
