intalling tile over tile
#1
We have ceramic tile in our bathroom that we want to change. The floor is solid and we realize that we can place ceramic tile over it. Our questions are as follows: The old tile is glossy, should we sand it first for better adhesion? and Should we use a thinset over it to make the the grout lines level with the tiles?
Thanks much

Hi,
No to your questions. All you have to do is make sure the old tile is clean, i.e., free from soap, grease, etc.
Use a high polymer thin set as your adhesive. There are a number of brands, including TEC Full Flex, and Customs Flex Bond. The thin set will easily fill the old grout joints as you go.
