Grout over Grout
#1
We just tiled a bathroom yesterday and the grout is too light. We would like it about two shades darker. Can we lay a thin layer of new grout color over the existing and will it adhere?

No, a skim coat will not adhere. You can either remove the grout down to the grout spacers on the sides of the tile, and then put in new grout or consider grout colorants. John Bridge has an excellent tile site, and here is a link to what he has to say about grout colorants:

Thanks for the plug, Rick.
Jodi, the longer you wait the harder it'll be to remove the grout. After one day you can usually scrape it out with a butter knife or something similar. On day two it's a little tougher but still doable. On day three, you're into the colorants.
