Which is better for a family room floororcilain or clay tile? And what is the difference? One shop tells me I should only use porcilain and the other shop says it doesn't make much difference. Thanks for any help.

Hi Bazza,
I doesn't make much difference. What is important is the PEI grade, which is 1 through 5, with 5 being the highest. A grade 3 or above is sufficient for any residential installation. Porcelains are usually 4 or 5, but many ceramics are, too.
