back in the saddle

I am doing the floor tiles in the basement bathroom and am ready to install the door saddle and have come to a decision making stop.

I need a little multiple choice help with this.

The saddle is 3 1/2" wide and the door frame with molding is 5 1/2" wide. In other words the saddle is about 2" smaller than it should be.

Does the saddle go all the way in?
All the way out?
Or should I center it?

This is probably a choice of preference but I welcome all feedback.

Your house has wet plaster walls and so the walls are 5 1/4 - 5 1/2" thick. You have the wrong threshold. Have a marble shop make you a threshold or keep this one if you like it. If you keep it, I'd line it up with the wall on the hall-side. Another option is the not use a threshold and tile to the edge of the wall, caping it with an "L" tile edging like this Schiene; http://www.schluter.com/p/content/ss...290x191_80.jpg
