tile removed older floria house plaster/morter walls

i removed tile in kitchen and the wall is spotty meanin concerte/plaster came off. I cant imagine trying to concrete saw down to studs in such small area to put hardyboard or such up. whats the correct way to get it smooth or prepare it for tile? any help appreciated never dealt w/ this situation

I'm a little unclear from your description, is this wall or floor tile? Generally block homes in fla use furring strips to attach the drywall or cement board too. You wouldn't use cement board over the concrete floor.
