Hi all,
I heard tell that a tile product is available that is applied over the entire tile and grout as a sealer. It
is mainly used in outdoor applications and adds a little sheen to the tile as well....Anyone hear of this?
Seems like a good idea and a lot easier than brushing 600 sq. ft. of tile grout with a toothbrush. : )

There is a problem with putting a shiney sealer or floor finish over the entire floor...eventually the sealer wears off the tile...and always first in the high traffic areas..which means you'll have to put sealer all over again..to make the finish look even. If the tile is glazed...just seal the joints.

Thumbs down Sealing tile and grout

Hi Derwood,

I don't recommend using a sealer that has a sheen for floor tile and grout, what tends to happen is that the sealer wears off of the higher(more trafficked) areas of the tile and tend to collect more dirt than would otherwise. My suggestion, seal just the grout with a high quality grout sealer, spend a little extra time this way but the final result will be much better.

Hope that helps,
