Tiling on concrete floor in a condo
Hey,
I live in a condo and the floor is concrete in the bathroom. It had lino on it before so I have ripped this out. I am going to tile the floor with porcelain tile. It is fairly level.
What do I need to do to prep the floor? Do I need to use some kind of sealer before I start applying thinset mortar?

Is is concrete or gypcrete? Concrete is hard whereas gypcrete can be scratched without undue effort.

I'm not sure. It kinda has a shiny gloss to it. Its a steel and concrete build, 1995. I did notice under the tub plumbing the concrete had been chipped away and there were small stones in the concrete.

Since you're on the ground floor, I'm very confident your floor is concrete. Not sure why it's shiny though. Maybe was troweled very smooth? Were you able to remove all adhesive from the sheet vinyl you removed?
Do not apply sealer to the concrete. If the concrete is free of all foreign matter and is very flat, you should be ready for tiles using modified thinset mortar. What brands are available to you?
