shower grout questions
First, what is the minimum amount of time quick drying thinset should have to dry before grouting 4x4 ceramic wall tile? And what is the minimum dry time for the regular thinset?
Also, we removed about ten tiles around shower faucet for plumbing updates. When tiles are reinstalled, if we let thinset dry 24hrs before grouting, is it ok to tape up a plastic tarp and shower during the thinset drying period before grouting?
Finally, after grouting, is it ok to shower with it taped off with a tarp?
Thanks

Never heard of quick drying thinset. Usually, it is 24 hrs for the thinset and 72 hrs on the grout before you seal it. I have no recommendation for the tarp so you are on your own there.
What are your plans to waterproof the wall where you opened it up and cut out some cement backer board?

One of them is called speedset and states grout can be put on in 2hrs. I was just curious what folks experiences are with it.
I didn't do the work myself. I do know he put new cementboard in.
