I am renovating a shower room in a nursing home and we have grey and blue 1"x1" tiles on the floor and about 4 feet up the one wall. We are trying to create a more relaxing atmosphere and wanted to reduce some of the grey in the room. These tiles are a little bit roughed up, I think for safety purposes. They are not shiny and slick like regular ceramic tile. Can we primer and paint over some of the tiles to create a landscape mural. Will the primer and paint stick to the tiles?

Hi Chris,

Probably not the best of ideas. I've never known of a paint that will last on tiles, especially in a wet area such as a shower.

You might get a different answer in the painting deparment, though.
