Kitchen backsplash

Over the years I've done -many many- home projects but never did any tiling.

Just finished up 25 sq ft of 6x6 tile for my kitchen backsplash and glad to report everything turned out great!

I made it a bit more difficult then need be by using a 4 1/2" grinder instead of a wet saw so it took a little longer and had to be a little more careful.

Used a cheap HD tile cutter which worked fine for this small job.

For once things worked out without too many hassles so I'll chalk this up as a win.

Looks good. Everything's straight and neat grout lines.

Now you'll need to hang out here more often and help other DIY tilers.

Thanks. I'm pleased with the results and I'm usually my own worse critic.

Don't know how much I can help out but I learned a lot along the way.

Sure glad I laid out the tiles with spacers first instead of relying on math since it was one of those cases where the math didn't add up.

Everyone looks at things with different eyes and often a pro will overlook certain aspects of the job because it's so commonplace for him he takes it for granted. I'm sure you can help out more than you realize.

That's true, and another thing, a pro is getting paid for his time so sometimes there are other ways that work just as well or maybe better, but take a little longer. Being a DIY'er, we have all the time in the world.
