All right, here's the scoop.

The kitchen floor has linoleum attached direcly to plywood floor. It is really on tight (original floor in 42 year old house). Areas behind refrigerator and stove were not attached well and are peeled off, down to the plywood. However, the rest of the stuff ain't comin' off.

Can I clean and prepare existing linoleum and tile over it? and use thinset to fill the uneveness around stove and refrigerator? I'm already at floor level with adjacent rooms and don't really want to add underlay or cement board height plus tile height.

Forgive me if this has been covered before (I'm in a bit of a jam and couldn't check archives)...Regards, Iceman

NO YOU CANT, KEEP SCRAPING, USE A PROPANE TORCH IF NEEDED (WITH A GOOD RESPERATOR) THEN IDEALLY COVER WITH CEMENT BACKER BOARD.
