Hello. I am familiar with tileing, but Id like to know if there are any safeguards I need to adhear to when tileing the floor and apron of a fireplace. Is there special grout? Mortar? Backerboard? Advice / suggestions on products is appreciated.

It shouldn't be too tricky. Can you tell us a little more about your fireplace? Is it brick/masonry, or is it a zero clearance/metal box? Is the surround sheetrock now, or is it masonry? How about the hearth/floor?

Sorry for all the questions. I know you want answers. Just need a little more info.

John
