i want to redo my bathroom tile. it's currently mosaic tile. rather than killing myself in removing it, i want to go over it with new tile. i have a few questions though. the mosaic tile goes all around the bathroom at chest level. the moulding around the door is at the same level as the tile, meaning they both stick out from the wall the same distance. if i tile over the tile, the new tile will be farther out than the moulding. does anyone have any ideas? i'd hate to sit there and remove a whole bathroom worth of mosiac tiles...

You will probably want to use a "radius" bullnose at the top to wrap over the existing tile. You could use the same piece up against the door moulding if you removed a row of the existing tiles and then patched pieces back in to support the bullnose. In other words, remove just enough tile to allow the bullnose to wrap back in to the wall alongside the moulding/casing.
The particular piece I'm thinking of is called (universally) A-4200. The corners are called AN-4200. Go to any tile supply store to see these pieces. And while you're there, check out another trim called S-4269. This might work by the casings without having to remove any tiles.
