i'm getting ready to start a new division of my contracting
company and i will be estimating the bids. i need input on
my overhead and job-costs or standards. the jobs i will be bidding are for new home construction and commercial buildings. any relative information will help. mostly it will be for ceramic and upgrades to porcelain and stone. thanks

Turn it over to your subs, or hire an experienced estimator. A little screw up in either direction can cost you a bundle monitarily and in terms of your credibility.
You'd have to be way more specific to get any help from any BB.
I'd say find an experienced craftsman and let HIM do the takeoff. Just expect to pay for his commodity; his time.
How is anyone going to tell YOU what YOUR overhead is going to be?
