I am going to install some herringbone mosaic tile(on mesh) as a backsplash in the kitchen and wanted any tips or pointers before I dive head first...

maybe cutting tips, alignment tips, so just anything that you think may help me avoid any headache...

Herringbone is one of the more labor intensive tiles to install because of all the cuts. So, be prepared for the project to take longer. If your tile's backing is water resistant you can cut whole sheets with a wet tile saw but if the backing is water soluable you'll need to cut dry which creates a LOT of dust so plan on cutting outside.

Because of the amount of cuts I like to pre-cut the tile before I begin setting. Sometimes I make a exact cardboard template of the wall section and lay it on the ground/floor next to the tile saw and I lay out the tile on the template and make all the cuts. Then you can thinset the wall and place the tile from your template onto the wall.
