Glue subfloor layers together under tile?
I’m sure it has been asked. I looked for a little while with no luck.
I am replacing top layer of subfloor before laying tile. I know not to screw top layer into joists but I’m not sure if it would hurt anything to glue the 2 layers together.
If I SHOULDN'T glue them, what could I use to help prevent any possible squeaking? Tar paper?
thanks guys

Its because when you glue underlayment and subfloor together, anyone who works on that floor in the future will need to tear it down to the joists in order to replace the subfloor. And the subfloor goes under your walls. You do not glue underlayment onto subfloor.
