Replace Tape on Plywood Flooring?

I'm in the process of removing some old black mastic - the tar like stuff - that was under some ceramic tiles. By scraping, etc. I also removed the tape that was between the floor plywood sheets.
So if I ever get this mess cleaned up should I replace the tape?
It won't be tiled again.
Thanks.

tape between floor plywood sheets? I'd maybe go with an adhesive caulk between sheets of ply and screw into the floor joists.

Yes, some sort of whitish tape between the plywood sections. About 2 inches wide.
This floor is about 70 years old so maybe that's how they did it back then.
I don't have to actually replace the plywood.

That black mastic almost always contains asbestos.

Yes, thank you. I kept it wet and wore a mask.
