Marble shower floor done wrong?

Can you place marble thannos mosaic tile directly and immediately into wet mud bed of shower floor, with no thin set. Tile has turned gray instead of white. Can water be underneath tile?

That's not too smart. The cement may permanently stain the marble. A white thinset should always be used with white marble. And I worry that you have no waterproofing under your tile. Sounds like a suspicious install but we don't know the details.

Concrete does not have the proper stiction to adhere tile, plus you need to use proper notched trowels to achieve an even layer of mortar which you would not be able to do on a thick slab of wet concrete.

When doing a mortar shower bed the mortar is usually extremely dry. So, dry it can be packed and stays where you put it. There wouldn't be any "stick". I assume your installer put down a layer of thinset mortar and set the tiles.

As has already been said. White thinset should have been used to set the tiles. Marble can be stained by regular gray thinset.

Since your floor might be getting redone. Do some reading on marble in a shower and make sure that is what you want long term.
