Used wrong tape on Durarock

I am finishing the surround around a tube and installed durarock board. When I went to tape the corners and seams (with Schluter All Set), I grabbed my sheet rock mesh tape instead of my alkali resistant tape. Didnít notice I had used the wrong mesh tape until I was finished. My question isÖ. Should I put another layer of tape and thin set over what I have done, remove the tape and replace (seems like this would be a real pain) or just go ahead and use what Iíve done. This bath is in a basement on a slab, the walls should never seen any movement or live load.

I think I'd just press on. It will probably be fine. Adding another layer would likely just create a bigger hump on a wall that you'd rather have as flat as possible.

My thoughts also. Sorry for the duplicate posts. Any idea how long fiberglass lasts in concrete before it starts to degrade?

Nope. But I would imagine it would last longer if you applied a waterproofing (Redgard) over it to keep the cement board dry.

That’s when I discovered I used the wrong tape, LOL. I went to grab my Redguard and my roll of alkali resistance tape was laying next to it, unopened.
