TIling door entryway with Durock Edgeguard

I'm planning on putting a 40"X 36" tile landing by our front entry door prior to having carpet installed. I bought a 1 3X5 sheet of Durock edgeguard cement board. Since I will need the full 36" on for the depth, can the edgegauard side butt up against the carpet and be tiled right up to it? Looks like a very small taper and that should work but wanted to check with others who have worked with the product - Thanks!

Didn't get any responses to this post, but wanted to follow up to state that the project worked out fine butting the durock tapered end right up to the carpet. I back buttered the tile at the tapered ends so that everything was level. Looks great and very happy with the project
